RÉSUMÉ
Un cycliste s’arrête devant une maison et dépose sa bicyclette le long du mur. Au même moment arrive un cul-de-jatte se traînant péniblement sur le trottoir. Le cycliste lui fait l’aumône et le prie de veiller sur sa bicyclette. Mais il n’a pas plus tôt disparu dans la maison que le faux estropié bondissant de sa caisse enfourche la bicyclette et se sauve. Le cycliste tout interdit d’avoir si mal placé sa confiance n’a d’autre ressource que de lui courir après.
D'après Susan Dalton : A cyclist stops before a house and puts his bike alongside a wall. A cripple comes along, begging. The cyclist gives him something asking him to look after his bicycle for a moment. But no sooner has he gone than the false cripple, jumps on it and rides away. The cyclist comes back sees the thief running away and pursues him followed by a crowd. (UK05)
