RÉSUMÉ

Un nègre s’est introduit par effraction dans une maison pour voler. Après avoir entassé dans une toile tous les objets à sa portée, il se dispose à s’enfuir, mais en chargeant son paquet sur son dos, il n’est pas peu surpris d’en voir sortir un policeman qui se met aussitôt en devoir de l’appréhender. Notre nègre grimpe, comme un singe, le long du mur et disparaît par l’imposte au grand désappointement du représentant de la loi qui fait de vains efforts pour passer par le même chemin.

D'après Susan Dalton : A nigger breaks into a private house and after having made a bundle of all he can collect in the tablecloth he throws it over his shoulder and a policeman falls out of it who would take him prisoner. He, however, rolls up the wall and runs all over it, and finally disappears through the fan light, over the door, the policeman tries in vain to follow. Very clever trick film. (UK May05)
